Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Anthony Daniel Blaney, who left us on August 6, 2023. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on April 12, 1982, to Diana Lynn Blaney and Anthony Irvin, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Anthony was a devoted father and nephew, roles he embraced with unwavering dedication. He leaves behind a legacy that will live forever in our hearts and minds.

After graduating high school, Anthony began an entrepreneurial journey by opening his own business, Blaney Home Improvements.  More than his accomplishments, Anthony will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends. He was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom, always ready with guidance and a listening ear. His warm smile and kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

In his leisure time, Anthony enjoyed taking strolls on the beach, spending time with family, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and coaching his children through their sporting activities.

Anthony was predeceased by his mother, Diana Lynn Blaney, his grandmother, Lucinda Blaney, his grandfather, Johnny T. Blaney, and his uncles, William “Wink” Bolden and Kenneth “Kenny” Whitlock.

He is survived by his father, Tony Irvin; his aunts, Johnnie Blaney Bonds (Garry Bonds - Husband), Debra Richardson Farquharson; his children, Na’Atika Thompson and Jameer Blaney; 1 uncle, Terry Bonds; best friend, Shonica Bell; other aunts and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

As we mourn the loss of Anthony, let us also celebrate the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit will forever guide us, and his memory will live on through the stories we share.

“Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us every day,

Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
