Charles Banks

Charles Banks was born November 2, 1947, to the late Vernell E. and Mary E. (Slade) Banks. He quietly slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 9, 2023. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gail P. Banks. His brothers Vernell S. Banks and Venson O. Banks. sisters Joyce B. Winder, Matilda A. Banks. Charles attended James Weldon Johnson High School Yorktown Virginia. He joined Cary's Chapel Baptist Church as a young child and attended until his health failed. Charles worked at Newport News Shipbuilding Newport News, VA. Charles leaves to cherish his memory brothers Marvin Banks (Lorraine) of Newport News, Kenneth Banks (Gwen) of Hampton; Dwayne Banks (Marcia) of Yorktown a sister in-law Sally Lois Banks of Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A graveside service to celebrate his life will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Hampton Memorial Garden, Hampton VA. Family and friends will assemble at the gravesite. Viewing will be on Sunday, June 18.  from 12 to 4 p.m. with visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
