Coleman Jackson Jr. (known as JUNIOR back home) was born on September 25, 1953 to the late Coleman Jackson Sr. and the late Lillian Jackson. He fell ill on March 25, 2025 and was hospitalized for a week and a half. He came home to be under the care of his grandkids and their mother. He lost his battle with lung cancer and peacefully transitioned on the morning of April 9, 2025. He was definitely a fighter till the end.
Coleman had a kind soul and he would help anybody. He loved his grandkids and he told them in the hospital that they are the best things that ever happened to him. He was devoted to his maintenance job at Walmart where he worked for 7 years (8/2018 to 3/2025). You could always depend on him to come and help with carpentry, cutting grass and cooking. He also loved to go fishing. His favorite dish was his daughter-in-law macaroni and cheese and banana pudding and he loved his mountain dew. He loved his sausage links and some good old liver pudding. You could always catch him with his matching sneakers and his jewelry. He would always take the kids to Dairy Queen back in the day to get a Mr. Misty Float.
Coleman was preceded in death by his parents Lillian Jackson and Coleman Jackson Sr. Left to cherish one son Terry A. Jackson (Cherie) of Bowie, MD. Four granddaughters Ramya Jackson, Nakyla Jackson, Kamirra Jackson and Tamesia Jackson. He gained an honorary granddaughter Corrina Poulson-Austin. Three brothers Terry Shepard (Pamela) of Wilmington, NC; Johnnie Jackson (Mellissa) of Wilmington, NC and Michael Jackson (Cherrie-Ann) of Graham, NC. Coleman also gained a daughter Jameelah Poulson through her past marriage whom cared for him in his last days and made his last days comforting with his grandkids.
