Dereon Justice Obituary

Dereon Amir Justice passed away on May 5, 2026. Born on October 6, 2006, to Latasha Monique Berry and Lance Justice, he obtained his GED in 2023 and subsequently sought employment while ardently pursuing his passion for music.

During his childhood, he participated in football, demonstrated a strong sense of independence, and consistently exhibited innovative thinking.  DJ was known for his generosity and unwavering dedication to his family.

Dereon's nickname, "Piggy," originated from his mother due to his hearty appetite as an infant. As he matured, this enthusiasm extended beyond food to a passionate approach toward life. "Family over everything" was his motto. Those who knew DJ held him in high regard.

Upon reflecting on DJ’s life and achievements, it is evident that his 19 years provided many moments worthy of appreciation. His presence left a lasting impact, and he will be remembered with respect and gratitude.

We can finally say you are now at peace.  God needed you for another mission and when he calls, we shall all listen.   Continue to watch over all of us as we start the healing process until we meet again.

As we gather to celebrate DJ’s extraordinary journey, our hearts overflow with gratitude for the vibrant moments and unforgettable memories he brought into our lives during the 19 years we were blessed to call him ours. DJ was a light—an angel whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and his spirit will forever shine bright within our hearts.

Dereon Amir Justice was cherished deeply by his loving mother Latasha Monique Berry who gave him her unwavering support. He shared a special bond with his siblings—Philip, Nahla, Nadia, and Tyson—who stood beside him through every adventure. His family circle extended further, filled with devoted aunts and uncles: Felecia Berry (Eric), Shauna Berry, Dujuan Berry (Amber), Kristen Berry, Brandon Berry (Crystal), Alicia Ogletree and Dustin Johnson. DJ’s beloved grandmother, Mrs. Renita Berry, treasured him dearly, and Mr. Tyrone Cadogan, a father figure, played a guiding role in his life. His cousins—Alana Johnston, Anaya Berry, Alisha Berry, Amaya Alston, and Dujuan Berry—were always at his side, ready to laugh, support, and celebrate with him. Beyond this, DJ was surrounded by a host of family and friends who adored him and felt the joy of his infectious energy.

Reflecting on DJ’s life and all that he accomplished fills us with awe. His legacy is one of passion, laughter, generosity, and love—a life lived fully, inspiring everyone around him. Now, as he finds peace in God’s embrace, we honor his memory and begin the healing process. DJ, keep watching over us; your spirit uplifts us as we move forward, and until we meet again, we cherish the joy and love you brought to our lives.

We can all say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” God has called you for another mission and when he calls, we all shall listen.
