Devon Williams Obituary

Devon Allen Williams (34) was born to David V. Williams Sr and Pamela D. Person in Hampton, Virginia November 8, 1990.  He received his wings on December 22, 2024.  He was formally educated in the city of Newport News and Hampton Public School System.  At an early age, he was baptized in Jesus Name and received the Holy Ghost at Christ Church Apostolic Ministries where the Late Bishop Robert A. Baker, Sr was pastor.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents David B. Williams and Phyllis (Jeannie) Williams,  Aunt Stephanie Sheffield, Dad David V.  Williams Sr., brother Zion M. Person, and maternal grandfather Bishop Robert A. Baker Sr.

He is survived by his mother Pamela D. Person, brothers  David V. Williams (Virginia) ,  Devin Dorby (Utah) James E. Person, III (Virginia), maternal grandmother Pastor G. Patricia Baker and daughters Nashae Bellevie’ (Nakita Bellevie’), Zion Williams (Chauntise Ousley), and Faith LaRay Williams (Ieshia Bailey).   A special friend Ashton Walker and bonus son Donnie Humphries, his Godmother Monica Robinson (Wayman Robinson) and  Godfather Calvin Blocker (Yolanda Blocker) his Godbrother Dr.  Jamal Blocker (Jasmine Blocker) and his Godsister, Mone’t Blocker, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and his entire village.

To know Devon was to love him, his infectious smile and energetic presence was memory making.  Devon loved sports specifically football which he played very well, (Go cowboys!). His early years were filled with youth football, boy scouts and weekend skating with his closest friends. As an adult he was a member of the local labors union (373) where he worked in asbestos abatement.  His love for family was unmatched.  If you knew him, then you knew he didn’t play about his momma.  He adored his grandparents.   He and his brother David were inseparable (D2). He was immensely proud of his younger brother James Person.  He was quick to break out in a song and announce his arrival with “Praise the Lord everybody.”

He is truly missed, but has left us with many memories.  He shall remain in our hearts and minds. Never to be forgotten.  Remember, to smile through your tears
