Edwin Hall Obituary

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15 KJV

Thursday evening, June 16, 2022, God dispatched His angels to escort Edwin Norman Hall to his new home.

Born on September 8, 1955, Edwin was the second of six children born to the late Lee Otis Hall and Ruth Elaine Hall in Hampton, Virginia.

He was educated in the Hampton Public school system and was a Hampton High graduate. He then attended Thomas Nelson Community College before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1975. During his time of service he traveled the world. After leaving the US Air Force 1986 he relocated to Hampton, Virginia.  He was a graduate of E.C.P.I. where he received his certification in electrical wiring. Edwin worked in various positions until he was hired at O&K Escalators, a German Escalator Company where he did the electoral wiring for escalators & moving walkways in various department stores throughout the US until the company moved to Illinois in 1998. In 1999 he began working for Automations Controls- OEM Panels in Newport News, Virginia. He built custom designed control panels & instrumentation for the growing municipal water market until the onset of dementia caused his memory to deteriorate.

He met Miggii S. Dimery in August 1977 while serving together at Plattsburgh, NY Air Force base.  They married in November 1977. Together they had two children, Mia Reeves (Oliver) and Sitrena Williams (David).

Edwin met his devoted friend Dawn Cecille West in 1989 and united in Holy Matrimony on October 24, 1998 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. His family was enlarged by this union with daughters Myah S. Cooper and Cire’ L. West. In 2004, their god daughter, Tatyana I. Banks was born, continuing to enrich their lives.

While stationed in New York, he became an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.  He enjoyed a good cookout with family, listening to Jazz and Motown and working on puzzles. He served at Gethsemane Baptist Church on the Trustee board. Edwin was also a cancer survivor.

Edwin loved his family.  His memory will be cherished by a loving wife of 24 years Dawn Hall of Hampton, VA; daughters, Mia Reeves (Oliver), Sitrena Williams (David), Myah Cooper, and Cire’ West (Alzie); god daughters Tatyana Banks and Niesha Johnson; grand daughters Cierra Johnson, Elaina Williams, Jahanna Reeves; grandsons Joshua Reeves, Aleric Moore, Ahson Moore; Sisters Wanda Jones (Steven), Venetia Smith (Michael), Katrina Stephens (Michael); brothers Lee Hall, Kenneth Hall (Gina); mother in law Beverly Powell;  mother and father in law the late Richard and Sara Ruth, sister in law Lenora Darden, brother in law Robert Miller (Carol) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
