Ellen L. Watts beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend of many passed away on February 17, 2024 at home in Hampton, VA. Ellen was born December 1, 1937 in Newport News, VA. She was the daughter of the late Robert & Martha Fauntleroy Jr. She attended Carver High School and participated in many "Blue & Gold" formal balls over the years. Ellen retired from Avon Family Fashions in 2002 after 35 years of service. After retirement she worked for Universal Services of America as a receptionist for her son Jimi Watts, Jr. for 2 years. Ellen was a faithful member of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple.
She left a loving legacy and numerous memories in the hearts of her family and friends; whom her life was centered. Her door was always opened for fellowship, food, and fun. Entertaining and cooking was her "love language .Many happy days were spent cheering on her beloved Washington Commanders (Redskins) while eating yock, deviled eggs and fried chicken. She was "Momma Watts" to all, especially to the friends of her sons.
She leaves behind her beloved family; Son: Jimi E (Charlene) Watts, Jr., Granddaughter: Taylor S. Watts, Grandson: Nathan Watts II., Daughter-in-love: Tracye Watts, Sister: Delores Russell, Bonus daughter: Celestine Crear & GrandDog: Scrappy Watts. She was preceded in death by her Father: Robert Fauntleroy, Mother: Martha Fauntleroy, husband: James E. Watts Sr, Youngest Son: Nathan Watts, Sisters: Odessa Pender and Geneva Alston.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday February 22, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Smith Brothers
Funeral Home located at 545 E. Mercury BIvd, Hampton VA.
The graveside service will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Hampton Memorial Gardens
