Eric James Brown

Eric James Brown also known as "EJ" or "Flip" of Hampton, VA was called to his eternal resting place on January 11, 2025.

Eric was born on December 2, 1964 to the late Gloria and Jimmie Coats. He attended Hampton Public Schools. He loved his city and was well known. Eric was an entrepreneur and business owner. He owned a barbershop where he gave many a start in their career. One of his biggest joys was to give back to his community by having memorial cookouts. He loved his children, family and friends dearly.

Eric proceeded in his death by his parents Jimmie Lee Coats and Patricia Coats, his son Rayshawn, and sister Stephanie Brown. Eric leaves to cherish his memory loving and supportive family to include his children Shayloe, Eric, Marcus Moody, his siblings Karen, Paula, Wanda, Darryl, Gary and Lisa, his grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
