Esther Swinton Leonard

Esther Swinton Leonard, daughter of the late Joe and Estelle Reaves, was born May 18, 1930 in Mullins, South Carolina.  She peacefully transitioned from this life on Monday, March 6, 2023 at her home in Hampton, Virginia.   

She received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Everbee Missionary Baptist Church in Mullins, South Carolina where she served faithfully until her health failed.  She relocated to Hampton, Virginia in December 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Hezekiah Swinton and John R. Leonard, three children Joe Reaves (Louise), Charles Swinton and Joyce Snow.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, two daughters, Vina Owens (Roy) of Mullins, South Carolina and Jean Williamson (Rolland-now deceased) of Hampton, Virginia and a son, Henry Swinton (Frances) of Mullins, South Carolina, twenty-seven (27) grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
