Gloria Robinson Obituary

Gloria Diane Robinson, age 71, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. She was born on April 16, 1954, to the late Jesse James Robinson and Lucille Boyd.

Affectionately known as “Glo” by those who loved her, Gloria was a lifelong resident of Hampton, Virginia—a place she proudly called home. She devoted her working years to caring for others, beginning in the early 1980s at Hampton University in food services, where she lovingly prepared and served meals to students. She later continued her service as a bus attendant with Hampton City Schools, where she worked faithfully for many years until her retirement.

Gloria was the heart of her family and a devoted woman of God. Her faith guided her life, and she found comfort and strength in reading her Bible and praying daily. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Her loving presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jesse James Robinson and Lucille Boyd; her sisters, Deloris Robinson and Shirley Mitchell; and her brothers, Hayes Robinson, Alfred Robinson, and Nathaniel Robinson and her granddaughter, Trinity Ranae Faulcon

Gloria leaves to cherish her precious memory her siblings Paulette Whittaker, Regina Robinson, Darrine Hicks, and James Robinson; her children Andre Robinson and Channell Faulcon, and her son-in-law Deonta Faulcon; her grandchildren Malik Jones, Elliott Johnson Jr., Amari Johnson, Marcus Faulcon, Destiny Faulcon, Adrian Faulcon, and Kason Robinson; and her adored great-grandchildren Marielle Johnson and Marcell Johnson, who held a very special place in her heart. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to three special individuals who lovingly walked beside Gloria until the very end: her devoted best friend Ethelray Thomas, and her nieces Sharmyce McGhaney and Felicia Whittaker. Their compassion, care, and unwavering presence will never be forgotten.
