Haverd LaVerne McKoy

Haverd Laverne McKoy "Gooch" "Junior" born February 4, 1944 Elizabethtown N.C. Left N.C. to serve in the U.S. Airforce 1966 thru 1986 to serve his country and travel the world. He married Elsie Mae Mattox McKoy who passd in 2014. They survived the death of their son Dwayne M. McKoy in 2012 after serving the government he worked custodial services for the Public Schools of Hampton where he has resided since 1986. He was a Deacon in Mercy Seat Baptist Church. His life life was in serving God and his country. He enjoyed fishing and church duties. He is survived by his late sisters children Climey Eleanor McKoy - Jeter (2016) children Raymond F. McKoy (Hampton) and Florence Elneta McKoy (Las Vegas Nevada) their children D'Angelique A. McKoy - Martin (Texas) Brittany Alexus Bryant , A.J. Bryant (Las Vegas Nevada) and cousins John and L.V. Graham and a host of  Loving family unnamed but remembered well by all he knew.
 A viewing will be held on Friday April 8 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
 A celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday April 9 at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, 1013 Todds Lane, Hampton 
 May gods angels carry Haverd home and eternal rest. A special thanks Haverd and John Henry for accepting me into a brotherhood of free men.
