Helen Virginia Chavis

Helen Virginia Brooks-Banks-Chavis was born June 28,1932 in Pittsburgh PA. to parents, J.T. and Helena Brooks (Died giving birth). She was raised in Hampton VA., by parents, Lenwood and Pearl Banks. Helen was perceded in death by both sets of Parents, and former husband, Benjamin Franklin Sr.and later husband, George Chavis, daughter in-law, Elizabeth Mack-Franklin, sister, Grace, and brothers, Oliver, Alphonso, Jimmy and Robert. She is survived by her brother, Curtis Brooks of New Jersey, daughter Shenice Franklin, step daughter Monique Franklin, and sons Benjamin Franklin Jr, and Ronnie Franklin (Debra) and 3 grandchildren, Anthony (Brandi) Michael and Malcolm.Two great grandsons, Josiah and Jackson. Helen Chavis retired from Dixie Hospital and Fort Eustis. A heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, and her dedicated daughter, Shenice, daughter in law, Debbie and Grandsons. 
Services will be held this Friday 22, at 10:00 at Smith Brothers Funeral Home, Interment Hampton Memorial Gardens and Repast at All Nations Church Newport News Va.
