John Henry Griffin was born on June 30, 1943, in Hampton, Virginia to the late John and Justine Griffin. He transitioned to his heavenly home on February 3, 2025.
John attended Hampton Public Schools, and he owned and operated his own Concrete/Construction business, Griffin Construction. He was a hard, diligent worker and expected the same from all those he employed, which was many. John was known for being outspoken with no hesitation for saying exactly what was on his mind. Behind his tough exterior was a man who had a heart for those he loved. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden. His sense of humor and infectious laughter will be truly missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Beatrice McNeil, Joyce Walters and Harriet Richardson; his brother, Eugene Griffin and his daughter, Wanda Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret Griffin; siblings, Janice Campbell, Paulette Griffin and William Griffin; sons, Warren Griffin and John Tucker (Tami); his daughters, Patrice Jackson (Billy), Tunisha Tucker and Donna Griffin; 2 bonus kids, Milton and Lalita Tucker; 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
John will be missed and loved by all who knew him. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
