Johnathan Donnell Little was the eighth (and youngest) child born to Jarvis R. Little, Sr and Missouri (Jones) Little on October 12, 1963 in Hampton, Virginia. Johnathan matriculated through the public schools of Hampton; including: Mary S. Peake, Y.H. Thomas, Capt. John Smith Elementary, Robert R. Moton Elementary, Spratley Jr. High and finally graduating from Phoebus High School in 1982.
Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was proud to serve his country during two military terms; from 1982-84, then from 1987-1997. Having served over 10 years in the U.S. Army, John received numerous commendation medals, badges and ribbons. He then decided it was time to return to the civilian world. He gave college a try and acquired two degrees in Business Administration; a Bachelors as well as an MBA. Several years later, he began a long 17 year relationship with COX Communications as a Quality Assurance specialist.
He described himself as "Well versed beyond the contemporary" and he also possessed the old school tradition of being no nonsense. John was a quick study with a comedic edge, he was one who "never met a stranger," for he loved to engage in conversations from African-American history to studying the night skies. When he was around, there was never a dull moment, but plenty of joy and laughter. John answered the call of his Creator on April 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his son Kyle Donovan Little, father Jarvis R. Little, Sr., siblings: Stevie, Timothy, Jessie V. Hyde and Jarvis R. Little, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Missouri Little, children: Johnathan Little, I, Marcus and Nadia Little (all of Hampton); siblings: Tyrone Little (Gela) of Chesapeake, VA, Alfred Little and Marjorie (Little) Davis, both of Hampton, VA; as well as a bountiful host of nieces, nephews and friends.
