Mrs. Karen Geraldine Doswell was born to Julius Dixon and Delores Dixon on January 26, 1959, in Hampton, Virginia. She was later raised by Percy Chavers and Maria Chavers of Hampton, Virginia and given a good life. Karen transitioned from this earthly life on August 5, 2023, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia under the care of Lake Taylor Acute Care Transitional Hospital after a long illness.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Doswell, four sisters, Diane Blount, Elizabeth Blount, Jessie Dixon, and Liz Dixon.
Mrs. Doswell was a graduate of Newport News Public Schools. She was an exceptional volunteer at several entities throughout Hampton, Virginia. She spent the last few years of her life in Virginia Beach at a nursing facility due to health challenges she faced.
She leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory one son, Jovan L. Dailey, Virginia Beach, Va., one daughter Jannea Dixon, Hampton, Va., six grandchildren, Shai Ajah Dailey, Greensboro, NC., Gianni Dailey, Chynna Dailey, Vashaun Dailey, Jovan L. Dailey Jr., and Jaylin Dailey, all of Virginia Beach, three great-grandchildren, Alyanna Beamer, Lei Lani Vatti, and Giancarlos del Cid-Dailey, Virginia Beach, two sisters, Alvania Mahan (Pastor Anthony Mahan), Clovis, NM, Julia Freeman, Hampton, Va, two brothers, Ronald Dixon (Deborah), Newport News, Va., Troy Dixon (Carolyn), Queens, NY, a very special, loyal adoptive daughter, LaToya P. Wilson, Chesapeake, Va., and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and a host of relatives, caregivers, and friends.
