LaDonne Archer Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and love that w e announce the peaceful passing of LaDonne Renee Archer (Roberts), who departed this life on March 22, 2026, at her home, at the age of 69.

LaDonne was born on June 22, 1956, in Fort Lee, Virginia, one of twin daughters to the late Vaughn G. Roberts and Gwendolyn Jones-Roberts. During much of her formative years, her father served in the United States Army, a path LaDonne would later follow with pride and dedication.

She attended public schools in Hampton, Virginia, where she developed lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community. LaDonne graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1974, where she was active in sports, participating in multiple athletic activities that reflected her energy, determination, and team spirit. She continued her education at Virginia State College (now Virginia State University) and later pursued her passion for helping others by studying sociology. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Christopher Newport College in 2008.

LaDonne honorably served in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist from April 9, 1980, to April 8, 1983. During her time in service, she demonstrated strength, compassion, and a deep commitment to caring for others. She completed three years of active-duty service, and her military reserve obligation continued until April 8, 1986.

Throughout her life, LaDonne held various roles centered around caring for others, particularly working with young people and supporting the sick. Her compassion and love for others were evident in everything she did.

LaDonne was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. She possessed a special gift for nurturing and consistently demonstrated extraordinary empathy, offering comfort and support to those in need. She went above and beyond for others, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

Gifted with a beautiful voice, LaDonne found great joy in singing. She used her voice to uplift and glorify God, inspiring others through her faith and devotion to her church and community.

She also found happiness in the companionship of her beloved canine friends, cherishing their loyalty and affection. Above all, LaDonne treasured time spent with family and friends and always looked forward t o family gatherings filled with love and laughter.

LaDonne was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Noralicia Brown, and her parents, Vaughn G . Roberts and Gwendolyn Jones-Roberts. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Willie Lee Archer; her twin sister, Donna R . Lundy; her brothers, Vaughn Jose Roberts (Jenny Roberts) and Brian Tracy Roberts (Cassandra Roberts); her nieces and nephews, Kristel Roberts, Carmen Bryan, Brian Roberts, Sierra Lundy, Erica Roberts, Gary Lundy, and Brandon Roberts; her great-nieces, Brionna McIntosh, Mariah McRae, Lyric Hewlett, and Magnolia Lundy; her great-great-nieces and nephews, Skylar Savoy and Saint McRae; friends who were near and dear to her heart, Robert Ranson, Gayle Landon, Symona Thorne, Michael Walker, Brenda Shields, Brenda Patterson, Maurice Johnson, and Ashley Goode and family; and a host of loving cousins and dear friends.

LaDonne's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the powerful impact she had on every life she touched. Her love, her faith, and her legacy will live on forever.
