He joined the Little Elam Baptist Church at an early age and attended Charles City County Public Schools. He married Faneshia Reed on October 30, 2015, in Hampton, Virginia and was employed by Food Lion as a stocker.

He was a caring, loving Husband and Father, well known by many as "Duck". Duck was a laid-back person who was willing to help anyone when asked. Duck enjoyed fishing with his Wife and Kids, cooking on the grill all the time while spending time with his family. Duck was always on the sideline at the boys football games cheering them on, and He was the biggest Miami Dolphins fan.
