Linda Howard was born to the late Elizabeth and Ernest Flanigan Sr. on February 9, 1948 and was called home to enjoy eternal rest and gained her heavenly wings on October 31, 2025. Linda devoted her life to caring for others. She worked several years for Hampton General Hospital. Afterwards she worked for the only black owned private doctor in Phoebus Virginia, Dr Maurice Frazier. She was a devoted and active member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served on the Health Care Team, as a member of the Gleaners and the Missionary Ministry. She tirelessly devoted her time volunteering at Antioch Improvement Ministries (AIM)’s Feeding and Clothing Programs, doing what she was naturally good at, cooking and serving the need of Hampton and vicinity’s needy and less fortunate population. Linda was preceded in death by her late husband, Bobby Howard and her brother, Ernest Flanigan Jr. Linda leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Keela Cooley -Mattei (Felix); one son, Benjamin Lee Brokenburr Jr. (Jamie); one Brother, Larry Flanigan of New Orleans; one sister, Geraldine Flanigan of Silver Spring Maryland; 7 grandchildren: Lashai, Jaequan, Ajane’, Jamel, Janasia, Amauri and Jamya; 3 great grandchildren, one niece, and a host of relatives and friends.
