Lola Mae Stallings

Lola Weatherford Stallings affectionately known as “Sallie Mae” by her family and friends entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, October 24, 2025. Lola was born on December 27, 1947 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Harvey Johnson Weatherford and Georgianna Williams Weatherford. Lola was married to her husband John Oliver Stallings for 40 years.  Lola was a graduate of Phoenix High School, class of 1965, Hampton Virginia. Lola attended Bethel Temple Church located in Hampton Virginia. 

Lola was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Georgianna Weatherford of Hampton, Virginia, a son, Brian Renon Weatherford, brothers, James Weatherford, Alton Weatherford, Robert Weatherford, Wilbert Weatherford, and a sister, Virginia Sumpter all former residents of Hampton, Virginia.

Lola leaves to cherish her memories, her husband John Stallings, her eldest son Andre Weatherford, daughter-in-law Chante Weatherford, granddaughter Amber Weatherford and grandson, Antoine Weatherford of Newport News, Virginia, youngest son, John Stallings Jr. of Newport News, Virginia, three sisters, Margaret Gill, Jacqueline Stallings (husband Billy Stallings), Dorathy Weatherford, sister-in laws, and host of (great) nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday November 3, 2025 at Smith Brothers Funeral Home, 545 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, Virginia 23663. Internment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm. Public viewing will 12 p.m. – 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Open viewing will be prior to service at 9:00am until the start of service at 12:00 noon Monday, November 3, 2025.
