Malcolm Thomas Obituary

Malcolm Duane Thomas departed this life on June 27, 2026, at the tender age of 32. Though his time with us was far too short, Malcolm filled every moment with energy, laughter, and a spirit that was impossible to forget.

A proud graduate of Nansemond River High School Class of 2011, Malcolm was known for his vibrant personality and his ability to bring joy wherever he went. He had a contagious smile, a warm heart, and a gift for making others feel welcome. His kindness, sense of humor, signature loud laugh, and genuine love for life touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Malcolm’s love for life was evident in his many and varied interests. Music was one of his greatest passions. He loved the thrill of roller coasters and never missed an opportunity to ride. Whether watching or playing sports, he especially enjoyed tennis and gymnastics and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants. He was also a Marvel Comics Universe fan, specifically Magneto.

One of the greatest joys of Malcolm's life was his beloved Shih-Poo, LouLou. Their special bond was built on unconditional love, companionship, and countless cherished moments that brought comfort and happiness to them both.

Above all else, Malcolm will be remembered for the love he shared so freely. He lived with enthusiasm, compassion, and a generous heart that left a lasting impression on family, friends, classmates, and everyone whose lives he touched. His laughter was infectious, his presence uplifting, and his memory will forever remain a treasured blessing.

Although Malcolm's absence leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he impacted with his warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit. May those who knew and loved him find comfort in the beautiful memories they shared and strength in knowing that his light will continue to shine in their hearts forever. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clevester Dalton Jr. and one aunt, Annick Christine Dalton.

He leaves behind to fondly cherish his memory his mother, Corrie (John McBride) Williams; his father, Kareem (Tara) Thomas; his sisters, Kha'ryn and Essence; his brothers, Nigel, Cartier, and Jalen; maternal grandmother, Cindy Seigle Wilson; his paternal grandmother, Bernice (Louis) Johnson; paternal grandfather, Elvin (Renee) Thomas; aunts, Mary (Brandon Keane) Singleton and Cameka Wright; uncles Lonnie (Jeannie) Wilfork, Jr., Tarique (Aja) Thomas; bonus grandparents, Levonia Dalton and Clifton (Justine) Wilson; and a plethora of loving cousins and additional family and friends.
