Margaret Elizabeth Knox, affectionately known as Margie, was born in Washington D.C. to Frances Dorsey Knox and Arthur W. Knox on January 1, 1939. Margie transitioned into eternal life on July 8, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Hampton, Virginia. Margie grew up in a loving home with her mother and stepfather, Levi Collins Sr.
Margie loved the lord and dedicated her life to Chris at a young age. She often spoke how much she loved her pastor, Bishop Porter, and her True Heart Family.
Margie often took care of her nieces and nephews. She often sang to them while ensuring their clothes were in tidy order, straightening and pulling up their pants. Some of her treasured hobbies included walks, watching old television shows, discussing soap operas, and taking trips with her sisters.
A note from her nieces and nephews:
"Margie was a wonderful aunt; she always sung around the house while cleaning and hanging up clothes. She took excellent care of us when left in her care by our mothers. She was always respectful and could make us laugh and smile when in her care."
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Dorsey Knox; stepfather, Levi Collins, Sr.; sisters: Eloise M. Tyson and Juanita Hill; and brother Levi Collins Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Arthur P. Knox and Larry Collins; three sisters: Frances Duty, Jane Barnes, and Anne Tynes (William); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
