Patricia Ann Wesley

Mrs. Patricia Ann Wesley was born on November 1, 1953, to William Dixon and Lula Mae Little-Dixon. She peacefully transitioned from this life on May 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and cherished memories.

Patricia was the youngest of nine children. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dixon and Lula Mae Little-Dixon, and five siblings: William Dixon, Jr., James Otis Dixon, Julia Mae Dixon, Margarett Marie Dixon, and Joseph Henry Dixon.

At an early age, Patricia gave her life to the Lord and was baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. Through life’s joys and challenges, she trusted God and sought to live a life that reflected His goodness, mercy, and grace.

Patricia was educated in the Newport News Public Schools and remained a lifelong learner. She believed there was always something new to discover and was never afraid to ask questions, learn new things, and grow through life’s experiences.

Patricia enjoyed watching movies, shopping, traveling, and taking drives with no particular destination in mind. She loved the freedom of the open road and the adventure of simply seeing where the day might lead. She was also known for enjoying a good boxing match, especially watching boxing knockouts, which often brought a smile to her face. Whether spending time with family, enjoying a movie, cheering on a boxing match, or taking a spontaneous trip, Patricia found joy in life’s simple pleasures.

Above all, Patricia loved her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her strength, wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband of 55 years, Royal Cleophas Wesley; two sons, Royal O. Wesley (Jennifer) of Hampton, Virginia, and Preston I. Wesley (Cheri) of Hampton, Virginia; one daughter, Yolanda A. Wesley of Hampton, Virginia; three surviving siblings, Sarah Hawkins of Richmond, Virginia, Jawara Ramadan (Maria) of Newport News, Virginia, and Theodore Dixon (Gloria) of Newport News, Virginia; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Patricia’s life was a testimony of perseverance, faith, and love. She demonstrated strength through every season of life and taught those around her the value of family, determination, and trusting God. Her laughter, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.

While our hearts mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she has gone to be with the Lord whom she loved so dearly. We thank God for the gift of her life, for the many years we were blessed to share with her, and for the hope we have in Christ Jesus.
