“Death is Powerless Against You if You Leave A Legacy Of Good Behind”
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Ricky Scott Bowers. He entered his eternal slumber on September 7th, 2023. He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois, on May 22nd, 1989. His parents were Frederick Alan Bowers, and Deborah Denise Royal. He was a bright spirit who brought joy and love to everyone he encountered.
Ricky was a caring father of two beautiful children, and a loving uncle to two nieces and one nephew; special people whom he made an immeasurable impact on.
He graduated in 2008 from Kecoughtan High school in Hampton, after which he entered into the United States Army. After his time in the armed forces, he entered the world of trades as an Electrician. His tireless work ethic and skill allowed him the opportunity to work for and with many others whom he was able to learn from and influence in a personal and professional capacity. His hobbies included motorcycles, online gaming, and caring for others. Of his many qualities, he will most be remembered for his empathy and giving heart.
He is survived by his Father, Alan Bowers; Mother, Deborah Bowers; Step-Mother, Denise Bowers; Sisters, Dawn and Mackenzie, Brothers, Kristofer and Ryan; Sisters-In-Law, Amanda and Carolann; several Uncles, Aunts and Cousins; four nieces and a nephew; and his longtime girlfriend, the mother of his children, son Damian and daughter Scarlett, Alexandria Clayton.
As we mourn the loss of our loved one, let us also celebrate and rejoice in the love he shared. His spirit remains with us and he will live on through our memories and the stories of him we share.
“It’s Not Who I Am Underneath, But What I Do That Defines Me.”
