Robert Victor Cross Jr.

Robert Victor Cross, Jr.  departed this earthly world for his eternal home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, after a brief illness.  He was born July 13, 1952 to the late Robert Victor, Sr. and Grace Atkins Cross.

Robert attended Hampton Public Schools, graduating from Bethel High School in 1972. He then matriculated to Kittrell College and graduated from Livingstone College with a degree in Sociology. 

He had a strong work ethic and was a great provider for his family. He retired from the International Longshoreman’s Association.

Robert took pride in being a loving husband and father, devoted son, brother and uncle. He was a history and Bible enthusiast, and a lover of all types of music, especially jazz. He loved spending time with his family and friends. 

He became a member of St. Paul AME Church in his youth. He was very active with the Sons of Allen Ministry, the Church School and Bible Study, and was supportive of every organization of the church, especially those supporting the youth.  

Robert Victor Cross, Jr. is predeceased by Robert Victor, Sr., Grace Atkins Cross, & Saeed Majeed (son); and is survived by his devoted wife, Adene; his children, Hameedah (Charolette), Salahuddin (Ebony), and Uthman; siblings, Nathan and Spurgeon Cross, David Minter and Shirley Carey; 5 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
