Robert Lee Scott, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in Portsmouth, Virginia, surrounded by loved ones.
Robert Lee Scott was born t o on September 23, 1938 to Hymon Scott and Laura Harris Scott. He grew up in Portsmouth where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. Robert was the baby boy of 10 siblings.
Robert Scott attended I.C. Norcom High School where he was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. After graduation, Robert went to serve his country i n the United States Navy. H e served six years in the fifth Naval District ranking t o a E-3. After the Navy, he attended Norfolk State University and graduated with a degree in Architecture and Design. He went on to pursue a career in Drafting and Design with the Civil Service at Fort Eustis for over 20 years. Robert also worked for the Hampton City Schools and Parks and Recreation for over 2 0 years.
Robert Scott was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love, and support for his family. He was a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board, Deacon Board, and he sang in the Male Chorus, Senior Choir, and the Gospel Chorus for over 25 years.
He is survived b y his children, Kaghon Askew and Jeaneen Scott; the loving Memory o f his grandson, Talik Scott. He is also survived by his sibling, Blondell Hardie, as well as many nieces, nephews, and fiends who will miss him dearly.
