Stelman Finnie Walden

Stelman F. Walden was born in Leasburg North Carolina to Stelman Finnie Wells and Vinnie Cosby Walden. Stelman was adopted by Rosa and Jim Holmes and resided in Newport News during his growing up years. Stelman has six children, and he was preceded in death by his son Kwamie Lassiter in 2019 who was a prominent NFL player for the Arizona Cardinals. Stelman's children included Latanya Bane (Tammy), Fred Lassiter, Isaac, and BJ. Stelman married Jean Elizabeth Motley Wallace-Walden in 1997. Stelman has a host of close family members including the Spragans family who were raised with him in the same household along with his brother Ricky Holmes. Stelman had a special relationship with his aunt Helen Watson and acknowledges his aunt Ethel Richardson. Stelman has a host of family including grandchildren, cousins, and extended family in Danville Virginia, Arizona, and Atlanta Georgia. Stelman has many friends and he was beloved by many in the community.
