Suzzette Michelle Talley Barber) was gifted to Deacon Freddie Talley St. and Evangelist Mamie L. (Edmonds) Talley of Halifax County, Virginia on October 26, 1958 in Newport News, VA. She graduated from Hampton High School and made it known that, "You couldn't crush a crab." She attended Thomas Nelson to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Development. Minister Talley worked as an educator at Hampton University. She was a well rounded entrepreneur and a self taught braider for over 30 years. Her slogan was, "If I can see it, I can braid it." Minister Talley loved working with her hands and could turn a branch from the side of the road into a masterpiece. She also enjoyed sewing and this is just to name a few because she definitely put the "H" in hustler. She took joy in making others laugh with dressing up as Annie Bell & Fannie Bell. Minister Talley loved hard and would often say, "I don't have time for foolishness.
Minister Talley loved the lord and was a firm believer in practicing what you preach and lived to be an example of what true salvation really was. Minister Talley also known to many as "Aunt Sue" was
known to be the life of the party and would throw amazing cookouts. She was also the founder of "The New Covenant Children's Gospel Choir" also known as the NCCGC's. Aunt Sue was also know for her
spicy wings, fried oodles & noodles and her famous rainbow splash.
Minister Talley was preceded in death by her parents Deacon Freddie Talley & Evangelist Mamie Talley, five sisters Freda Talley, Roselita Talley, Connie Talley, Starling Pellum, Cecilia Davis and 1 brother Eric Talley. Minister Talley was loved by many and leave to cherish George O. Parker (Chasitie) of Stockbridge, GA, Shamekia Williams (Detywan) of Hampton, of VA & Jazmine Stover of Tuscumbia, AL (Goddaughter). 9 Grandchildren: Kiante Parker, Kenyatta Parker, Sacore Carmicheal, Jorge Parker, Amina Parker, Am Parker, Jaquez Parker-Williams, Zi mere Williams & Keiyara Williams and 2 Great Grandchildren: Kiaser Parker & Kingston Parker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Take rest Minister Talley in knowing that you left an amazing mark of greatness on your children, grandchildren, family, friends and loved ones. Dance with the angels and you will be greatly missed but you
legacy and spirit will live on. We love you and "We will see you soon!"
