Tahjuan Taylor Obituary

Tahjuan Marques Taylor affectionately known as "TJ" transitioned and entered eternal rest with Our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 13, 2026.

"J" was born in Hampton, VA on September 29, 1997. He graduated from Kecoughtan High School, Hampton, VA in 2015, where he excelled in athletics as a Linebacker and named team Captain on the Varsity Football team. He was both academically and athletically gifted. In the 7th grade, he proudly represented Hampton City Schools on the math quiz show The Math Zone, showcasing his sharp mind at an early age. He later attended Virginia Union University, majoring in Business. TJ had a deep passion for cars and everything about them which motivated him to pursue that passion by earning several certifications in automotive mechanics & technology and earned an Associates degree at ATI (Advanced Technology Institute).

Inspired by his Great-grandfather, George Taylor Jr., he dreamed of becoming a business owner and spending his days working on cars. During his downtime he enjoyed playing NBA 2K and proudly reigned himself as the best 2K player in the 757.

TJ was a man who truly loved life in the simplest and most genuine ways. TJ had a personal relationship with Christ. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, Auto Club and proudly embraced his favorite colors, red and black, in support of the Atlanta Falcons. TJ began his professional career with Newport News Shipbuilding Inc, working in Material Support (053) for five years before leaving to fully pursue his passion for automotive repair. He continued to develop his craft while working at several repair shops as a specialized auto technician while serving as Shop Manager. Where his leadership and skills were evident.

His smile, laughter, playful spirit and stories about his high school football career will be truly missed. His daily greeting and signature phrase "what's going on familyyyyy" will be forever etched in their hearts.

TJ was preceded in death by his Great-grandfather, George Taylor Jr., and his biological father Anthony Thigpen.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved sweetheart, his wife of eight years Makayla Taylor, and their two children, O'Shea (3) and Omari (1) and family dog Zo Taylor. He is also survived by his loving mother, Tikisha (Nicholas) Farrior; his brother, Jovon Parker; his devoted Second dad, Uris "Tee" Parker; his Grandmother Linda Taylor-Hatfield & Grandfather Bernard Hatfield and paternal Grandmother Agnes Nottingham (William) and his Great-grandmother Rosa Taylor, Mother-in- law Latonya Williams, brother-in-law John Williams, a host of other siblings (Kaila, Brooklyn, Lexus, Jammall, Diondre & Raquan), Uncles: Gregory Taylor, Sean Farthering, Bernard "BJ" Hatfield Jr., Ricco Fathering & Shaquille Fathering and one aunt Shavon Parker and host of great-aunts & uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

T's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. "Hope is the quiet voice that says, "tomorrow will be better' and the courage to show up and try again" Though we grieve this profound loss, we take comfort in knowing that Tahjuan "J" Taylor's life, although short, was deeply meaningful. TJ will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
