Virgil Jamar Laquay Drew

Virgil Jamar Laquay Drew was born on April 23, 1986 to Tara L. Drew and Timothy R. Alexander. “Punky” as he was affectionately called by his loved ones, lived in Hampton, VA.  Virgil took wings of an angel and began his journey home on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Punky enjoyed laughing and listening to music.  His famous quote was “I Ain’t Got It”, meaning it’s no need in coming to me for any MONEY.  Virgil loved playing with his little nieces and nephews, seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing they were happy, would make his day.  He loved family and looked forward to attending any family functions where they could all be together.  Punky loved stylish tennis shoes and clothing. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mattie L. and Lenwood Drew; niece, Kali Lyric Broomfield.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Tara Drew; father, Timothy Alexander; daughter, Arianna Drew; sisters and brothers, Ashley Dorsey, James Drew, Courtney Drew, Dontrell Harris, Melvin Rushing, Jr., Octavia Logan; grandparents, Cathy and Stanley Gwaltney; special auntie, Veronica (Nee-Nee) Drew; uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  

Punky may be gone from this world but his memory in our heart will never be forgotten.
