Virginia Ann Sydnor

Virginia Ann Sydnor (affectionately known as Ann) entered eternal rest on Monday, December19, 2022 at the age of 88 at her residence in Hampton, VA surrounded by loved ones.  She was born on August 12, 1934 the third of nine children born to the late Easter L. and Samuel L. Haskins. She confessed faith in the Lord at an early age. On April 24, 1958, she was united in holy matrimony to the late William Glenn Sydnor, Sr.  and to this union six children were born.Ann graduated from Isle of Wight Training High School in Smithfield VA and later earned anAssociate degree in Nursing from Dixie Hospital School of Practical Nursing.  She began hernursing career at Whittaker Memorial Hospital Newport News Va. and later went on to work atthe Hampton VA Medical Center for more than 20 years before retiring May 1, 1999. Soon after retirement she decided to return to what she loved at Coliseum Park Nursing Home Hampton Va. for several years before retiring again. She enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, spending summers with her grandchildren, listening and singing Gospel music, watching Judge Joe Brown, and Professional Basketball (favorite players: Michael Jordan & Tim Duncan).  She also spent hours on the phone talking to her sisters. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Easter L. and Samuel L. Haskins Sr, her husband William Glenn Sydnor Sr, two sisters Dorothy L. Ford and Mary E. Williams, two brothers Isaiah M. Haskins Sr. and Samuel L. Haskins, Jr.  

Virginia leaves to mourn a sister, Elisabeth R. Byrd of Elberon VA, brothers Nelson Haskins (Ida), James Haskins (Louise) of Ivor, VA and Alvin Haskins (Annette) of Hampton, VA and, herloving children Peggy Marie Ford of Bowie, MD, Gale Vondoria Brown of Evans, GA, Valerie Celestine Smallwood of Hampton, VA, William (Billy) Glenn Sydnor Jr. (Adrienne), of Richmond, VA, Antonio (Tony) Sydnor and Tyrone Sydnor of Hampton, VA. Eight grandchildren SeddrickLee Brown (Brittney) of Grovetown, GA, Ashley Dawn Graves (Kevin) of Danville, VA Christopher Glenn Sydnor of Falls Church, VA Tia Marie Sydnor of Suffolk, VA, Derrick Tyrone Brown (Kayla) of St Louis, MO, Sidney Ford of Bowie, MD, Marquis Walker of Newport News, VA, and Akayha Proctor of Norfolk, VA . Seven Great Grandchildren Raylen Grant of WichitaKS, Kyla, Kayla and Seddrick Brown II of Grovetown, GA, Ava Graves of Danville, VA, Parker Sydnor of Falls Church, VA and Julia Rose Brown of St Louis, MO and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
