Willie Vernon Floyd, 82 years old of Hampton, VA was born August 31,1941 to Rowena Jackson & Willie
Floyd. Sr. He died peacefully at his home on January 21, 2024.
Willie was a very active member of Antioch Baptist Church (Hampton) for many years where he served as a member of the Male Chorus. He was an avid attendee of Sunday School and very supportive af the Men's Ministry.
Mr. Floyd was a member of the following clubs/organizations: Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #433
Old Capitol Excelsior Mizpah Lodge #4, and DAV Chapter 6.
Some of the things he enjoyed were Cooking, Fishing. Ping Pong. Watching Tennis, Spending time with family, playing cards, listening to music and watching movies.
He spent 30 years in the United States Air Force (Retired) and worked for 5 Years at Northrop Grumman
- St. Augustine, FL.
He was preceded death by his wife Shirley Floyd, his father Willie Floyd, Sr., his mother Rowena Glass: and his brothers Francis Floyd and Melvin Glass.
He is survived by one brother Jerome Glass, his children LaDonna Cruse, Dylan Floyd (Zena), Vernon Floyd (Terry), Djuana Floyd Scott (Ronnie), Melvin Floyd, Tony Floyd. David Floyd Brinquez; his grandchildren Chandra, Chaia, Ronnie Jr., Chivas, Leilanie, Lauren, Jaylon. Aaron. Great grandchildren Chandler, Jayla, Christyna and Joseph, and a host of loving friends.
