Zakito Jae Small, known affectionately as Kito, passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 47, in Hampton, VA. He was born on December 12, 1976 in Bronx, NY. Being a military brat, Kito lived in multiple locations, meeting so many friends along the way in such places as Germany, Louisiana, Virginia and New York. He finally decided Virginia would be where he made his home. Kito brought joy to all who knew him.
Kito was a man of many passions, he loved cooking, watching movies, listening to music and spending quality time with his family. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love for motorcycle riding. Kito’s resilience was as commendable as his smile – deep dimples and all; he remained positive even through challenging times, a testament to his strength and character.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Small and his grandmother, Hattie Moore-Pointer.
Kito leaves to cherish his most precious memories; his daughters, Nadia Channel Small and Zakiya Jae Small; grandson, Aidan Jae Rodriquez-Small; brother, Rajeem Small; life partner, Jacquelyn Gilchrist; cousin, Ebonie Moore; father, Charles Morgan; siblings, aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who cherished him dearly
